Nathan Dorzweiler

Nathan was born in Gunnison, CO and has lived in the state ever since. Most of his childhood was dedicated to athletics. Nathan says that his passion for human movement and exercise is attributed to his participation in sport.

Nathan was fortunate enough to be offered an athletic scholarship to run track at Western State Colorado University. While competing at Western State, he set top marks in his events. He currently holds the indoor 200-meter school record at 21.50 seconds. He was awarded athlete of the year honors and received a citation for the Mountaineer Hall of Fame.

Nathan graduated from Western State Colorado University in 2011 with his Bachelor’s in Exercise and Sport Science. He has worked as a personal trainer at Gold’s Gym in Montrose, CO. During his time there, he was able to help hundreds of people achieve their health and fitness goals. Nathan is extremely motivated to help a diverse population of individuals. He is always looking for a new challenge, and he is excited and motivated to be part of the HealthFit family.

Nathan is the proud father of two daughters, Nadira and Jaylee, and he hope to instill in them the same passion and love for health and fitness that he has.

Alyssa Mallette

Alyssa is a passionate, driven individual who rises to the occasion and loves a good challenge. Originally from Mississippi, she grew up in a military family and has lived in places around the world. She ended up in Colorado and fell in love with the mountains so she settled down and grew roots here in 2010. She grew up swimming competitively from a young age and really discovered her love of fitness and health when she started coaching the sport. Having coached youth to adult swimmers, she has experience working with a wide variety of populations with varying levels of expertise and limitations and is well equipped to work with all walks of life wherever they are health wise.

Alyssa also has experience overcoming her own health issues, and lost 80 pounds on her own after her daughter was born which further fueled her desire to help others in their health journey’s. Her passions led her to The University of Colorado where she got her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science in 2015, and her Master’s degree in Biology with an emphasis on Human Biology in 2017.

Alyssa’s daughter, Violet, is a walking example of her love of health and fitness. She’s an energetic little 6-year-old who plays every sport she can and loves to be outside and running around whenever she gets the chance. When she’s not at work, you can find Alyssa outside with her family hiking or enjoying any of the other amazing outdoor activities Colorado has to offer, researching about fitness (she loves to learn new things), finding new exciting things to cook (or eat!), or working on her personal fitness goals. Another one of her favorite past times is to explore Colorado’s incredible selection of craft breweries! She is an incredible resource and she, along with the other HealthFit Kinesiologists, will help you reach your health and fitness dreams!
